AirMount app enables users to access iOS photos and documents from their Mac. It is an efficient sharing tool for easy transfer of photos and files between two devices just via drag and drop. Users can organize and share content between devices via Bluetooth and direct WiFi connectivity and not worry about the Internet connectivity or physical cable connections.
With AirMount, Users can search, preview and organize photos, documents, and other files. The app lets users access their 25 recent from their iOS device’ Photos app in a smart folder on Mac. Using the file picker, users can attach iOS photos to Mac emails and use them in documents.
Users can also put their files in AirMount’s built-in drive to access them on any connected device whenever and where they want, similar to a USB drive. AirMount also lets users save storage space on their iPhone by archiving photo albums to their Mac or a backup drive.
To get started, users need to download the AirMount app on both devices. When connected an ‘iPhone’ window will appear on the Mac desktop to initiate file transfer.
The app has the following functionality
- Tap on the AirMount icon to connect to Mac.
- In the Drive section, add or edit files to transfer to Mac.
- Tap the Photos option to access all albums or photos from iOS Photos app.
- In the Settings section, users have two additional options, require unlock to Mount and download iCloud Photos (as a beta version)
In case you are wondering how AirMount works, its inner workings are very similar to AirDrop. It uses Bluetooth LE to create a WiFi connection between iOS and Mac devices to enable file transfer. Due to this, AirMount requires Mac models that are not older than 2012.
Even though AirMount works like AirDrop, its additional features quick file access and organization make it a bit more useful than the former.
AirMount is available in the App Store for free and requires iOS 8.0 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. We gave the AirMount a test run and highly recommend it for easy, quick and private files transfer on Apple’s devices.
