Guide: how to hacktivate iPhone OS 3.1.2 with blacksn0w

George has declared today the sn0w day as he’ll be releasing blacksn0w with blackra1n RC3. blacksn0w is the first ever unlock for 05.11.07 baseband on the iPhone. The change log as well as instructions are now available. As promised, here’s the complete guide on how to hacktivate your iPhone 3G/3GS with blackra1n RC3.

Download the latest version of iTunes.
Connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac and upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2
Download blackra1n. ( Chose the correct version for your OS )
Run the app and click on the make it ra1n button.
Let it do its job and once your iPhone reboots, the blackra1n app will be there in the Springboard. Run it and install blacksn0w.

If you already had blackra1n installed on your iPhone, run the app and you’ll see ‘ra1n’ instead of Icy. Upgrade by tapping it. After the upgrade, it’ll show ‘sn0w’ in the options. Install it and your iPhone will be unlocked.

blacksn0w will also be released via Cydia later today so those who jailbroke using pwnage tool or deleted the blackra1n app will be able to unlock their iPhones easily.

I have an iphone 3gs 3.1.2 with 05.11.07 and try to use at&t sim card without dataplan. I installed balckra1n and blacksn0w. But it still shows no service. Can you help me with it? I am too eager to use the phone.

make sure your iphone 3g is on 3.1.2, it wont work for 3.1 or anything lower than that.

O thanks 4 replying my dear frds. i've check i m n lastest fime (3.1.2 bandband 05.11.07) n also follow itune on ver-9. stil No Blackrain of icon sign. but then every time JB it say wait for reboot then it done. But agan No sign very sad onces again thank alot got other solution ?

every time i run blackra1n it says connecting to device then tells me the device is jailbroken but no logo appears on the phone it just stays in boot mode until it shuts off. i have tried to disable ituneshelper but unable to locate it. have all the proper software. on windows xp anysuggestions?

hi, guys. Have you update your latest firmware? If not, do it & try again. please make sure you do not have any pin lock with your sim card. I have the same problem like you say. because i have a pin lock with my sim card. After i remove my sim pin lock. It's just go smoothly. try it…….good luck.

i am running the right firmware. I also tried pwnge tool and that didn't work either. no sim lock right now the phone simply says no service. I will connect to wifi but the blackra1n program still does nothing. I have tried restoring and then running blackra1n also and that still doesn't work. I have done it with and without the sim card. I must just be missing one small step. any suggestions

OK…Now you try to re-do all the step. But you must use iTunes to Restore Your Firmware 3.1.2 ( Please download for 3.1.2 & restore it from iTunes by press down shift key and then iTunes restore ) after you done this, go to http://blackra1n.com/ & download Blackra1n. After that, run blackra1n & see what you get. Keep in touch. good luck…..
