Apple has been in talks with Verizon about delivering iOS 5 updates via the air, much like Android and Blackberry devices do today.  Apple has long required the tethered update to iTunes, requiring you to plug in your device, open itunes, download, and install the update.

An XDA developer who goes by the name of Chainfire has successfully rooted Samsung Galaxy S II on Android 2.3.3 firmware. You can now gain full system access by flashing your Galaxy S II using Odin, Samsung’s flashing utility, and put in a custom kernel. You’ll then be able to get Superuser access (after a reboot) with the help of adb program from Android SDK. Simply follow the step-by-step tutorial given below to root your Galaxy S II on Android Gingerbread firmware.

Android users, rejoice! Google has released a Google Docs app that allows for composing and editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations on your Android device! Arguably one of the coolest features is the ability to take a picture of text and create a document from it. Just snap a pic, convert it, and then you can share/send/edit it right on your device!

Like me, if you’re one of those guys who held back on iPad 2 and saved their money to grab one of those sleek and stylish Android 3.0 Honeycomb Galaxy tablets coming in next few weeks from Samsung, then this news is gonna make that decision a lot tougher to make in the end. Today, Sony has made an official announcement revealing two PlayStation branded honeycomb tablets called the S1 with a 9.4-inch screen and the S2 sporting two 5.5-inch screens which can be folded onto one another and be used either individually or separately.
