iCloud is what Apple likes to call “cloud storage done right!”. For those who have been living under a rock for the last few months, iCloud (previously MobileMe) is Apple’s cloud based service. It was first announced on June 6 2011 at the WWDC. Currently, the service is in beta stage, open only to those who have signed up for Apple Developer’s program, a subscription based membership which costs $99 a year bringing you exclusive access to all the beta releases related to Mac and iOS along with tons of developer only goodies. Just yesterday, Apple released iOS 5 beta 5 to the developers as an OTA update with a two weeks gap between the previous beta. However, 9to5Mac claims they mighty have “cracked the OTA update date code” and are suspecting Apple will drop iOS 5 beta 6 on Wednesday, 17th August if “some codes sent their way by a few developers” are to be trusted. Moments ago, Apple released iOS 5 beta 5 to the developers. With it comes iTunes 10.5 beta 5 which like the previous releases, is mandatory for syncing your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with the fifth beta of iOS 5. Just after two weeks of the last beta, Apple has just released the iOS 5 beta 5 which is now available for download through an Apple developer’s portal. Like the previous iOS 5 beta, you can grab this one via an OTA update if you don’t have your iOS 5 beta 4 jailbroken. To do that, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Otherwise, you’ll need to download the full .IPSW file after logging in to you developer account. Read more...
