Here we go again guys! Tag your calendars and setup the reminders for the next big Apple event. According to a recent report by MacRumors, a Japanese website Kodawarisan claims that annual Apple media event 2011 will be held on September 7th according to the US time (or September 8th as per Japanese local time). The traditional Apple fall event is being held every year for the last 3 years in September which brings announcements for the next generation iPod models including iPod touch, iPod shuffle and iPod nano. Apple released iOS 5 beta 5 a few days back and many users, including myself, who either have an Apple developer’s account or otherwise have their iOS device UDIDs registered through a relative / friend’s developer account, are already enjoying the latest beta. This is essential since restoring your iOS device to a beta build will not let you through the iTunes activation process, unless your device is registered at the Apple servers as a developer’s “test” device. Luckily, now there’s a workaround for those users who want to try out this latest iOS 5 beta and don’t have a developer account or device UDID registered. Read more...

The most notorious and by far easiest way to jailbreak your iOS device, is to use JailbreakMe 3.0. However, the JailbreakMe jailbreak used a PDF exploit that Apple has since patched with 2 releases of iOS, 4.3.4 and 4.3.5. 4.3.4 fixed the PDF exploit and was not a recommended update if you used JailbreakMe to jailbreak your device. 4.3.5 was then released to fix other issues that were later found. Redsn0w can be used to jailbreak these iOS versions, but it is still a tethered jailbreak, so it is also not recommended. Read more...
