Well, well, well. Steve Jobs wouldn’t be sitting easy after reading this. Safari on Mac OS X fell to hackers at Pwn2Own contest in just 5 seconds! That’s incredibly scary by any means but the good news is, the exploits used to do this aren’t going to be released in the wild for wrong usage. A close second was Internet Explorer 8 ( who uses that? Get IE9! ), which fell to three different vulnerabilities and custom exploits.

The company is planning to unveil the IE 9 RC at a special event in San Francisco today. Internet Explorer 9 introduces tons of new features and security enhancements such as Tracking Protection, a new privacy feature and ActiveX filter that adds the ability to block ActiveX controls.

Microsoft released the 6th Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 9 for developers, a few days ago at PDC 2010. In line with all previous platform previews, this build doesn’t have a proper UI for normal use since it’s aimed towards developers. Microsoft must think developers have no life. But they have leaked out a secret method to upgrade Internet Explorer 9 Beta to the platform preview 6 engine to gain all the new features and improvements of it while retaining the new UI. It’s been a few days since Internet Explorer 9 Beta was made available for download for Windows Vista and Windows 7 in many different languages. Microsoft did some major changes to the UI and the underlying rendering engine as well making it way faster than any before as well as more standards compliant. How a JavaScript engine is integrated into the browser is as important as the engine itself for real-world JavaScript and HTML5 performance. Microsoft started from the premise that the modern web will deliver HTML5 experiences. Accordingly, Internet Explorer 9’s Acid3 score has continued to rise and it now scores 95/100 which is totally GOOD.

How to remove HTTPS Security Warning in IE 8

While browsing the Internet using Internet Explorer 8, sometimes a dialog box appears which states “This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage”, as shown in the screenshot below. This dialog box may appear when you are opening a web address that begins with https like Hotmail or Amazon or any other secure website. This message shows that you are trying to access a web page that may include images and other elements that are hosted on a non-https location.
