Before you say that Office 2010 Starter Edition will be available for free, read this: this tip is for the full versions of Office 2010 such as Professional and so on. Just like Windows, Office 2010 runs for 30 days as a trial without being activated with a product key. After this trial period, it can be re-armed to run for another 30 days. Microsoft has released an update for Word and Office 2010 Beta which fixes a few issues related to stability and performance. Although now rolled up in a single update package, the Outlook 2010 Beta update was released separately back in January which fixes a problem in which the size of an e-mail is unexpectedly large. The update also provides some fixes for Word 2010 beta ( both 32 and 64 bit editions ) as well as stability and performance improvements. Read more...

The public beta for Microsoft Office 2010 must be very near because Microsoft has put up the download pages for the betas on the new Office portal. From the information on the download page, it seems that Office 2010 Beta will be available in 3 SKUs, first being Office Home and Business 2010 beta, while the second one will be the Office Professional 2010 beta and the third will be the Office Professional Plus 2010 beta available for volume licensing only.
