While installing software and modifying settings to my liking on my new notebook, I stumbled across a power setting for Internet Explorer. When it comes to backing up files online, one of the most used services is Dropbox. However, Microsoft has recently rolled out Windows Live Mesh, which provides Dropbox with some competition. Each have their pros and cons, so I decided to test them both. Here’s what I found:

RRoD Xbox 360 Modded Into Awesome PlayStation 3 Arcade Controllers [PICTURES]

WOW! This might be offensive to some Xbox 360 lovers but frankly speaking, it didn’t offend me at all coz I already have a RRoD 360 laying around the corner for quite some time now. It would be even better if I had a couple of such dead Xbox 360’s but those who do (and who also own a PlayStation 3 system), will be delighted to check out this mod. Ebil from Australia, has beautiful turned his dead xbox 360 shells into a couple of awesome looking PS3 / PS2 + PC + Xbox arcade sticks.

Hey @Microsoft, I’m Getting Rid of Windows Phone 7 and Here’s Why!

<Category: Microsoft, Windows Phone 7> 13 Comments

I love trying out new operating systems and gadgets. That’s why I blog on technology. So despite any doubts I had on Microsoft’s latest effort in the mobile arena, despite their history with Windows Mobile 6.5 (could have been way better than what it was) and KIN (duh!), I decided to give Windows Phone 7 a try. I had been using Android and iOS so I had a pretty good idea of what to compare WP7 with. And after giving it lots of chances, here’s my honest and unbiased opinion on Microsoft’s efforts.

Windows Phone 7 Update For Samsung Omnia 7 Bricking Some Devices!

<Category: Microsoft, Windows Phone 7> No comment

It seems that first Windows Phone 7 update, which has just been rolled out for download, is resulting in a number of major issues for many Samsung Omnia 7 users. As reported by WinRumors, some users have not been able to complete the update process at all. After plugging their devices into their PCs, they seem to get stuck at stage 6 of the update resulting in their handset hanging on a “connect your phone to your PC” screen. Some are suggesting this WP7 update problem may be caused by different Samsung firmware versions while others believe it may be caused by 64-bit version os of the Zune client.

According to a report, an internal leak in Microsoft has revealed company’s developmental plans for Windows 8. A slide posted yesterday by Zdnet details Microsoft’s roadmap for Windows 8. The slide hints that Windows 8 Milestone 2 is close to completion while work on Milestone 3 will begin on February 28 which would take another 5 months to complete. Until now, Microsoft has been extremely quiet regarding the Windows 8 project despite showing off a preview of an early build of Windows 8 last week at CES in Las Vegas.

WizMouse Brings Mac/Linux-Style Scrolling to Windows

One of my favorite features in a Unix/Linux-based OS is the ability to scroll in any window my mouse is over, whether it’s the “active” window or not. When running Windows, it can be frustrating to find that you cannot do the same thing natively. WizMouse bridges the gap by bringing a Mac/Linux scrolling style to your Windows OS.
