Samsung announced their latest flagship Galaxy S8, just a few days ago. Galaxy S8 ships with a faster processor, improved front and rear cameras, a smart assistant named Bixby and the most attractive feature of them all, the Infinity Display. As with all major Galaxy phone releases, this one also comes with a set of beautiful new wallpapers and apps.
Luckily for fans, folks over at XDA Developers have shared the wallpapers, launcher and Bixby apps from Galaxy S8, that can be used on other Samsung Android phones. Here’s how you can get your hands on these goodies:
Galaxy S8 Wallpapers
Around 18 wallpapers have been leaked with a resolution of 2960 × 2960. The wallpapers might look plain to some, but they look brilliant on high DPI displays. I have been using these on my iPhone 7 Plus and really like them.
Galaxy S8 Launcher and Bixby
The Launcher from Galaxy S8 follows the TouchWiz design guidelines and has been tested to work fine on other Samsung devices running TouchWiz too. The caveat is that the Samsung smartphone must be running Android Nougat. The launcher isn’t all that different from previous TouchWiz running Galaxy phones, but if you want use Bixby, it’s a must have.
No root is required to install the launcher. Simply download the APK and install it on your Samsung smartphone. To avoid any crashes or issues, clear the data and cache for the stock launcher Touchwiz Home from Settings, before installing the S8 launcher.
Once the launcher is setup, Bixby can now be downloaded and installed. Once the APK is installed, open the S8 launcher and long press on the home screen to open settings. Activate Bixby from here. To use Bixby, swipe left from the launcher home screen.
It is yet to be seen how well Bixby compares against the likes of Siri, Cortana and Google Assistant but that should not stop you from giving Samsung’s assistant a try.
