Just couple of days back, Geohot demoed fully working jailbreak for PS3 firmware v3.55. Today, he has released the jailbreak tool publicly for everyone to join the PlayStation 3 homebrew fun as well as PSN (online) support. However, he has made it clear that no “game backups” or piracy is allowed on his v3.55 custom firmware jailbreak. It is purely for running “signed homebrew” for which new signing tools would be released soon.

Here is how you can do it in few easy steps:
1. Take a USB drive / stick.
2. Download the jailbreak .zip file from here.
3. Now, create a New folder and name it “PS3″. Create another one inside that folder and name it “UPDATE”.
4. Extract the jailbreak .zip file you just downloaded and put its contents in ‘UPDATE’ folder.
5. Now run system update.
