Next Generation iPhone Will Not Be 4S, It Will Be iPhone 5 And Released On October 1st [REPORT]

According to a new report by AppleInsider and Business Insider, the next generation iPhone will have a “bigger than expected” update. The report claims that the device will be quite similar to the iPhone 4, yet have a dual-core processor, larger display and a thinner bezel.

Unfortunately, the iPhone 5 will not have any 4G support compatibility, due to the large size and power drainage of 4G chips.

What is different is that in addition to a dual-core processor that we have talked about before, our supply chain sources indicate that it will sport a slightly larger display than the current 3.5-inch retina display that is already industry leading. We are picking up that it will retain a similar form factor and size but with thinner bezel. We believe this makes sense to improve the iPhone experience without making it too bulky as we have seen with models from competitors.

On the other hand, another report claims that a “reliable source” source has told BGR that the iPhone 5 will be released on October 1st in Canada, according to an internal document found. The site also claims that this could very well be true, as Saturdays are the busiest days of the week for cell phone retail stores. We, however don’t seem to agree with this; Apple has their way of dealing with things, with the popularity of the iPhone, Apple would rather choose another day to keep traffic as low as possible (which still won’t work). Apple is known to launch products on Thursdays.

To round up, most reports have claimed that the iPhone 5 will have a larger display, edge-to-edge screen and an A5 chip. However, very few claim that LTE will be supported, which could be true as Apple’s own Tim Cook once said that they will have to “force design changes [Apple] wouldn’t make”, if they were to support 4G. The design changes can also be backed up by the alleged iPhone 5 cases found. (via MacRumors)
