Netflix App for iPhone Updated with Video Out Support

Netflix iPhone App Video Out

Netflix App has gotten an update and now supports video out on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G.  Weirdly, they’ve left out iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G users out for the new feature. Keep in mind that iPhone 3GS is still being sold as an 8GB model, so it’s a really stupid decision on the company’s behalf to not support video out on a current product. The Netflix app is a universal binary so this also means that video out isn’t supported for the iPad too.

Apart from video out, a few obligatory bug fixes are included.

Netflix is a popular paid video streaming service which has a huge library of movies and TV shows available on different platforms, including computers, televisions and mobile devices. The Netflix app for iOS was released sometime ago with support for video out on specific iOS devices.

The reason that some devices have been left out could be due to lower processing power being available but if you look around in the App Store, there are many video apps that support video out on the older iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touch 3rd generation model.

Anyhow, video out is not a killer feature as most Netflix users can do that through computers or use the apps on other devices such as consoles or TVs. It’s still good to see Netflix being dedicated to bringing new updates to iOS devices.
