It is based on five new concepts i.e Revolutionary User Interface, Social Connectivity, Location-based Entertainment, Converging Real and Virtual (augmented) Reality. The device is also compatible with previous PSP’s downloadable games. A new form of media, most likely some sort of a flash memory will be used to distribute the games and not the UMD.
Here are the complete specs of Sony’s NGP or the PSP 2:
- 5-Inch Capacitative Touchscreen
- Rear-Mounted Touchpad
- High-Res. OLED Display (960 s 544)
- Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor
- Dual Analog sticks

- Accelerometer / Gyroscope Motion Sensor (same as PlayStation Move)

Sony’s new portable introduces a brand new UI called LiveArea, which has a bunch of vertically navigable home screens and built-in social networking through PlayStation Network. One can easily switch between games and the LiveArea without losing current game progress.
