A developer named Apocalypse is working on a new tweak called 3DBoard which will bring an amazing 3D effect to the Springboard icons on any jailbroken iPhone / iPod touch (on iOS 4.0+) when the device is tilted. Apple partner Imagination Technologies has made an announcement that they have acquired ‘cinema quality’ graphics chipmaker Caustic Graphics for $27 million, who are known for making eye popping 3D content using “ray tracing technology” and create complex lighting models. This technology could soon be found in iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad in future upgrades. According to MacRumors, Hasbro is working closely with Apple to launch a revolutionary new device called ‘My3D’ which would allow viewing 3D images and movies on an iPhone or iPod Touch. This new peripheral would bring users the ability to view 3D content in a unique 360-degree field of view. If you are a lucky Zune HD owner, you probably know by now about the new 3d games released by Microsoft after firmware 4.3 release. Probably the most anticipated game was Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition, which was shown in advertisements for the Zune HD as well. It’s a port of a popular series for the Xbox 360, therefore the high expectations. Larry Larsen has created and posted some amazing Photosynths of the Apollo Moon landings, that took place 40 years ago, along with a 3D version that requires red/blue glasses to be viewed in all its glory. These Photosynths provide a richer experience than what you get by viewing photos. Thousands of images from the Apollo 11, 12 and 17 missions have been used in the creation of these Photosynths.
