Important Note: The new Spirit jailbreak tool has been released which provides an untethered jailbreak. This means that you don’t have to re-jailbreak your iPod Touch 3G or iPhone 3GS after every reboot. Important: iPhone OS 3.1.3 has been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve got a new guide up on how to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 and iPod Touch 3.1.3 with redsn0w 0.9.4. Don’t upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3 if you’re using an unlocked iPhone 3G/3Gs or a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (MC Model)/3G. The redsn0w guide is for iPhone 2G/3G jailbreak and iPod Touch 1G/2G ( non MC Models) only.

A company which goes by the name Jibbigo, has rolled out a bilingual translation app for iPhone. This just released app translates sentences between English and Spanish as you speak. Interestingly it does not require an Internet connection to perform the translations. It would be a perfect companion on your trip to Spain and will assist you in getting directions pretty quickly. The app works with iPhone as well as iPod Touch 2G or above and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later. Read more...

George Hotz released an iPhone OS 3.1.2 jailbreak tool called blackra1n for Windows and Mac a few weeks ago. While it made jailbreaking very easy ( process completed in 30 seconds for some ), there were some bugs and issues with iPod Touch 2G MC model, iPhone 3G and 3GS support. George will be releasing blackra1n RC2 tomorrow which fixes for all these models. Read more...

Apple has reduced the prices on the iPod line up right before the Rock and Roll event today on 9/9/9. These prices actually make the 32GB iPod Touch cheaper than the 32GB Zune HD so there goes one of the advantages the iPod Touch competitor had. The price change have only been visible in the US Apple Store so far. At the time of writing, the Apple Store is down, probably for new product updates that will go live after the event. Read more...

Pictures of the upcoming iPod Touch 3G and iPod Nano 5G have already been leaked online thanks to a third party iPod case maker as reported by CNET. The camera in the new iPod Touch is clearly visible but the dimensions and designs don’t look any different from the current gen iPod Touch. On the other hand, the iPod Nano shows a similar design to the current generation iPod Nano but with a few differences and a camera. It still looks as slim as ever. In a few hours the new iPods will be unveiled, so we’ll know for sure if these leaked pictures are 100% correct or not. Read more...

Strange but true. The second generation iPod Touch and iPod Nano were the first to get the Nike + iPod integration. The new iPhone 3G S also has it. You’d expect iPhone 3G to have gotten it as well. But, even though it has the capabilities to work with it, it’s locked out. Read more...
