Today seems the be the custom-firmware-jailbreak-tools release day. Earlier, PwnageTool 4.2 was released for Mac which jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untethered on all devices. Now, sn0wbreeze 2.2 is available which does the same i.e. create custom jailbroken firmware for iOS 4.2.1. greenpois0n RC5 ( and RC5_2 ) was released yesterday to Mac OS X users. It is an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1, which means that you don’t have to re-jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch every time you restart it. It seems that the move is aimed at competing with certain smartphones such as Nokia communicator, Motorola RAZR, some older Blackberrys and a handful of cheaper Android cellphones.
