Mozilla Releases Fennec Alpha (Firefox Mobile) for Android 2.0+ and Nokia N900

Although an alpha build of Fennec was available for download for Android 2.0+ devices since a few months, it wasn’t really the most stable pieces of software. Today, Mozilla have officially released the alpha version of Fennec for Android 2.0+ and Nokia N900. It features much of the features that we’ve come to love in the desktop version of Firefox. Google provided a very useful functionality in Android through the Chrome to Phone extension for Android phones which lets you send links, text, phone numbers or map locations to your phone directly from your browser. An alternative extension is now available called Google Chrome to iPhone which lets you send web pages without even having to buy or install an app on your iPhone.

Nexus One Developer Phone is Out of Stock

In mid July, Google announced that they will not sell Nexus One on their Web Store just after the finish of their current stock. Then just after a few days, Nexus One was no longer available from the online store but Google still had some phones for their official developers. Nexus One was available as an official developer phone since the early part of this month. And now Android Developers Blog reports that Nexus One is out of stock even for developers. Developers rushed out to buy the unlocked Nexus One and now they are out of stock.

Oracle to file lawsuit against Google for Patent and Copyright-infringement

Oracle, a company known for its databases software and management software Primavera, is filing a lawsuit against Google after they violated several patent and copyright infringement. Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems in the year 2009 which makes them the owner of Java computer programming language. The company plans to sue Google for using its technologies in Android.

Apple is the Seventh Largest Mobile Manufacturer but Android OS Surges Past iOS

According to a recent report by research firm Gartner, worldwide sales of mobiles devices have increased by about 13.8 percent from the same period in 2009 and the sales of smartphones have gotten a boost of 50% as compared to the second quarter of 2009. In last quarter, Apple was in seventh place in mobile phones manufacturers and in this quarter Apple is still at the same position although their sales have gotten some boost with the launch of iPhone 4. Apple is catching up to Motorola as Apple has a share of 2.7% as compared to 2.8% of Motorola.
