FaceTime comes to OS X – Download FaceTime for Mac Beta

We had been hearing rumors since a long time that Apple will bring FaceTime video calling to almost every device they make and today in their “Back to Mac” event Apple has announced FaceTime for OS X. That raises the FaceTime compatible devices count to 3 – iPhone, iPod Touch and Macs. Hopefully, next will be iPad 2.

Zune software is NOT coming to the Mac–A sync software will be

Microsoft has recently launched Windows Phone 7 along with many devices and with that they have also updated Zune PC software with support for Windows Phone 7. With this new Zune software, PC users would transfer their music, photos and videos to their phones. But what about Mac users? If they want to buy a Windows Phone 7 device then they would not have any Zune software for their Mac OS. Microsoft may release a Windows Phone sync solution for Mac but this will not be like the Zune software for PC. This sync solution will just provide a way for Mac users to transfer their music, photos and video to their phones.

Apple seeds fourth beta of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to developers

Continuing their weekly releases of Mac OS X 10.6.5 builds, Apple released the fourth beta of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to developers on Thursday. The build number of this release is 10H535 and those familiar with this build say that Apple has asked developers to focus on testing all the same six areas which were mentioned in last week’s release which are: 3D Graphics, iCal, Mail, QuickTime, Time Machine, and USB Devices.

Apple Distributes first Mac OS X 10.6.5 build to Developers

Apple has started distributing the first developer build of Mac OS X 10.6.5 since Friday night. This is the fifth release of company’s Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system and is officially labeled as Build 10H525. This build follows Mac OS X 10.6.4 which was made public on June 15th just after WWDC.

Microsoft launched their latest Office suite for Windows just a few months ago. Now Office 2011 for Mac is slated to be released in October. Today, Microsoft announced launch details about Office 2011 for Mac. It will ship to more than 100 countries around the world in two editions available for purchase at retail stores – Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 and Office for Mac Home and Business 2011.

Apple releases Mac OS X 10.6.2 update, fixes Guest account data deletion bug and much more

Mac OS X 10.6.2 is the second update to be rolled out since the launch of Snow Leopard, three months back. Mac OS X 10.6.2 fixes the Guest Account Bug, which deleted user’s data when the user logged in as a Guest. It also brings an end to Intel Atom support which is bad news for hackintosh netbooks who want to upgrade to 10.6.2. The second Mac OS X update is said to contain fixes for more than 30 bugs. Apple recommends all the Mac OS X users to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.2.
