The ‘Aurora’ setting for Aero, which replaces ‘Chocolate’, causes Aero to change to match the active window. New Windows 8 Build 7955 leaked!

This morning a new build of Windows 8 has been leaked.  Again, by an anonymous source.  We last reported the first leaked build a couple weeks ago, and now there is a new one out there.  The build is currently being hosted on private FTP servers, but not to worry.  You can expect it out as a torrent very soon.

How To Join Microsoft’s Xbox Guinness World Record Event [April 23rd]

Kinect, Microsoft’s revolutionary motion gaming sensor, has already been awarded the world’s fastest selling consumer electronics device earlier this year by Guinness World Records. The sensor sold around 133,000 units per day for a total of 8 million units in its first 60 days of its launch. Now, Microsoft is aiming to snatch yet another of these Guinness titles during the free Xbox Live Gold preview held by Xbox Live Nation this weekend between 21st to 25th April. During the preview, everyone will have access to Xbox LIVE Gold!

Metro Style Webcam App For Windows 8 Demonstration [Video]

Right after we showed you the leaked footage of Android-like logon prompt in WIndows 8, we’ve got another Metro style leak to share. Its the new Metro style “Webcam Capture Application” caught on video, demonstrating how the new app utilizes Metro UI style visuals and controls. The application is once again a part of Microsoft’s touch-enhanced tablet experience which is planned to be incorporated in the next-gen Microsoft Windows based tablets.

Android-like Pattern Windows 8 Logon Prompt [Video]

In a series of Windows 8 related leaks floating all over the web, here comes another one. This time, its a video demonstrating Windows 8 logon prompt similar to Google’s Android pattern passcode hinting at Microsoft’s efforts in developing a “touch screen” friendly OS. The logon prompt is part of the Metro UI interface, codenamed “Aero Lite”. Previous rumors also suggest a new faster hibernation system in the works for Windows 8 which will execute in merely six seconds, saving all running documents and tasks.
