We all know that PlayStation 3′s latest firmware 3.56 does not allow any jailbreaking / homebrew available so far meaning all PS3′s need to be updated from 3.55 firmware to the latest in order to access PSN online. Doing so obviously requires giving up all the homebrew fun. Until a few days back, a simple DNS trick seemed to bypass this firmware update requirement allowing you to connect PSN while staying on 3.55 firmware, which now appears to have finally been blocked by Sony. But luckily, another workaround has just been discovered which lets you access PSN once again on your PS3 3.55 custom firmware. Read more...

Windows Phone 7 has been hyped beyond limits by Microsoft, so much that you would think it’s even better than iOS and Android. Sadly, the reality is far from it. Apart from the UI, there’s not much to talk boast about yet. That might change with time as Microsoft fixes the crappy scrolling and zooming performance in Marketplace apps. Anyhow, one of the first killer apps for us has arrived on Windows Phone 7, and it’s called Flory IM.

Every year, Microsoft posts a huge loss for their online services. Still, they keep trying to push new features that they ‘think’ that users want such as making Windows Live Messenger a bloated mess and making Hotmail more useless with every update ( hint: learn from Gmail, Microsoft ). A user, Dan Bull, has sent us his rap song that summarizes all the issues with these Windows Live services and why they annoy us. Read more...

An amazing “ghostly” music video with over two minutes of runtime has been made using Microsoft’s Kinect, the motion sensor for the Xbox360 gaming console. The video is Echo Lake – Young Silence and was shot by Dan Nixon and Dom Jones in December last year while it took them another two months to make it look like what it is now. Check it out below! Finally, we have a new Messenger app for Windows Phone 7, Li’Messenger that’s actually pleasant to use although with some features lacking that might get resolved in the next version, we hope. Li’Messenger is a free app without any ads and seems way faster than the semi-official Messenger app that was already available in the MarketPlace which honestly, no one likes. Li’Messenger, on the other hand, has a small footprint, it’s fast, designed using Metro in mind and connects directly to Windows Live. It also supports signing in from more than one place so you can be signed in to Messenger from your desktop, Xbox and your WP7 at the same time. The Messenger app by Miyowa doesn’t allow this.
