Microsoft has created a tool called the iOS to Windows Phone 7 API Mapping Tool to make it easy for iOS developers to port their apps over to the Windows Phone 7 platform. This would allow developers the tools to make that happen, and help both the developer and Microsoft in the end. Microsoft adds more apps to it’s store, which is expected to pass up Blackberry’s App World within a year, and give developers more presence as well. Read more...

Finally, we have a new Messenger app for Windows Phone 7, Li’Messenger that’s actually pleasant to use although with some features lacking that might get resolved in the next version, we hope. Li’Messenger is a free app without any ads and seems way faster than the semi-official Messenger app that was already available in the MarketPlace which honestly, no one likes. Li’Messenger, on the other hand, has a small footprint, it’s fast, designed using Metro in mind and connects directly to Windows Live. It also supports signing in from more than one place so you can be signed in to Messenger from your desktop, Xbox and your WP7 at the same time. The Messenger app by Miyowa doesn’t allow this. Twitter has made a breakthrough almost at the same time as the Consumer Electronics Show. It has proudly introduced a proper slick desktop application for the Mac systems which is now available on the Mac Application Store. Being fast and easy to use, this new Twitter application allows users to stay connected to their loved ones and share their thoughts almost exactly in the same fashion as it can be used on Windows desktop computers. Quite in the same manner, tweets appear almost immediately after they are tweeted and the URLs are automatically shortened and plenty of keyboard shortcuts make the process much more convenient. This is one of the beauties of jailbreaking your iPhone – you can get just about any feature the competing devices have. Just yesterday, we covered a Cydia tweak that lets you unlock your device the same way one would unlock a Samsung Galaxy S phone. Today, a new Cydia Tweak called TV Tube Sleep has appeared which gives you a TV Tube animation when you turn off your iPhone screen using the sleep button. This is exactly like how Nexus S, the first Gingerbread phone from Google, animates when you turn its display off. It looks freaking awesome. Read more...

HTC have taken it on themselves to release a YouTube app for their Windows Phone 7 Devices. It’s a horrible fact that Microsoft didn’t bother to include a YouTube app, amongst many other features, in Windows Phone 7. Call it version 1.0 or whatever you like, but even iPhone had it since version 1.0 Read more...
