Flipboard, on of the most popular apps of the year for iPad, has been updated to version 1.1 with new features such as Google Reader and Flickr support. The app has also become more social with better integration with Facebook groups, fan pages and photos as well as Twitter favorites, mentions and lists. Apple has updated iBooks to version 1.2 with some major new features. You can now organize books and PDFs into personal Collections. This is a blessing for those with unorganized iBook Shelves. Fully illustrated books have also been added to the iBookstore ranging from children’s books to beautifully designed art books. Let’s see the Kindle do this one. This has to be the coolest Cydia app to date. Graviboard frees the homescreen icons on your iOS device from their usual positions and adds physics effects so that they move around freely with the touch of your finger or tilt of the accelerometer.

It’s clearly obvious that apps on iOS are just a different ball game altogether when compared to their Android versions. Take the Facebook app as an example. Although it got an upgrade yesterday, it still doesn’t match the speed and features of its iOS version. Similarly, Twitter for Android has also received an upgrade, bringing it on par to its iOS sibling in terms of feature set.
