Microsoft has created a tool called the iOS to Windows Phone 7 API Mapping Tool to make it easy for iOS developers to port their apps over to the Windows Phone 7 platform. This would allow developers the tools to make that happen, and help both the developer and Microsoft in the end. A new service has been launched by Pieceable that lets you run any iOS application on a web browser. Yes, no iPhone, iPod or iPad needed. It works with most iOS applications. All you need is a native binary that can run on an iOS simulator and it should be good for Pieceable viewer. According to the company “No code changes need. Just build your app for the Simulator (rather than the Device), and upload your .app to us. We give you back a link to your app on the web.” Sounds good eh! Read more...

Did you see this one coming? A whopping 1 million apps have been downloaded from the Mac App Store on the first day says Apple. From more than 1,000 free and paid apps, this figure has been reached in less than 24 hours. Way to go, Apple! That’s a way better response than Windows Phone 7’s Marketplace, one of the newest App Stores to launch before Mac App Store. The official NitoTV twitter recently posted a screenshot what appears to be the first ever Apple TV 2G jailbreak app shown in action. The above image displays nitoTV weather app running on the second gen. Apple TV which seems to simply download your local weather data from the internet over wifi and display it on your big screen with a few graphics. If you have never heard of WiFi Sync before, it’s a little tweak available from Cydia(for $9.99) that allows you to sync your iPod, iPad or iPhone to iTunes without having to use the USB cable. The app is quick and reliable and many have been waiting for Apple to allow it officially in iTunes but they haven’t. Fortunately its available in the Cydia Store right now for all jailbreakers.
