Another nugget found recently in the latest developer build of Lion spotlights the “Reboot into Safari” mode, allowing the computer to be rebooted into a “sandbox” of sorts for the Mac.

Within an hour of Angry Birds for Chrome being released, it has already been hacked. Developer Wes Bos discovered that with a quick change to the cache, he was able to unlock all the levels in the game, including the Chrome limited edition levels.

It came with no surprise when Google Cr-48, the first ever Chrome OS laptop was found running Ubuntu a couple of weeks ago as reported by engadget. Well, it sure doesn’t end there does it? It now appears that hackers have successfully managed to install and run Windows 7 as well as Mac OS X Snow Leopard on the Cr-48. It is believed that Google built Cr-48 with “hacking in mind” but running Windows 7 and Mac OS X full on, wasn’t on the menu for sure!

There haven’t been much news on Chrome OS lately, possibly due to new developments in the netbook/tablet computing scenarios such as the iPad and loads of Android tablets and netbooks coming out of the horizon. But from the latest screenshots discovered by TechCrunch, Google seems to be quietly working on making it a viable alternative OS.

This just in via Gizmodo. Chrome OS is now available for download as a Beta version. It isn’t the official Google version, but it’s worth a shot if you’re into Linux, netbooks and Chrome browser. It also provides a lot more desktop apps than expected from the official Google Chrome OS.
