Unlike the previous jailbreaks for iPhone 4 / 3GS, iPod Touch & iPad on iOS 4.3.x, this one is a tethered jailbreak since the existing untethered venerability discovered by @i0n1c has been patched by Apple in iOS 4.3.4 along with the PDF vulnerability found in iOS 4.3 to 4.3.3 used in JailbreakMe 3.0 by @comex. A new springboard enhancement tweak has just hit the Cydia store and is called SBFader. The tweak is developed by Alexandros Melakis and once installed, adds a simple “fade in” effect to the application icons when swiping across the springboard pages. You can also switch off the SBFader from Settings app and also adjust the opacity to which icons fade during the transition. For those who haven’t yet had the privilege to test iOS 5 developers beta on their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad and then jailbreak it, UISettings is among the first jailbreak tweaks developed exclusively for iOS 5. It is integrated inside the Notification Center as a widget and does what SBSettings does for iOS 4 and below. However, with iOS 5 beta 2 update, the tweak seems to have stopped working and it just won’t show up after installation from Cydia. The developer appers to have ignored the fact and hasn’t yet released an update to fix the issue. However, it seems you can easily get it working on beta 2 nonetheless.  Read more...

A brand new jailbreak tweak knows as WiFi Booster, has just hit the Cydia store which virtually boosts your iPhone’s WiFi signal. Well, to be more precise, the tweak actually makes a few changes to the Settings app allowing it to show all WiFi networks in range even those with the poorest signal. This is achieved by reducing the signal threshold at which WiFi hotspots are shown as “available” in the iOS Settings.
