Ryan Petrich, the developer behind acclaimed Cydia tweaks such as Display Out, SwitcherMod, Untrackerd and Action Menu brings yet another cool release for all jailbroken iPhones and iPods called PagePusher. The tweak adds an iBooks-like “page turning” transition when switching between application panels in iOS. Developers have created a new browser based App store, similar to cydia, but on the web.  If you are familiar with the Android Marketplace or the Amazon App Store, this new Lima App Store allows you to download and install via the web. If you have a jailbroken phone, and use apps from Cydia, then you know how much of a pain it is to upgrade your firmware and redownload all your apps again.  XBackup allows you to create a backup on your phone, and then sync that backup file to your computer via iTunes.  When you are done upgrading and are jailbroken again, just go to the Cydia store, and download XBackup once again.  Then in the app, run a restore, and your apps are back on your phone.  Read more...

It is now confirmed that Apple has blocked all of Saurik’s servers hosted at Amazon from accessing gs.apple.com i.e Apple’s SHSH server. This explains all the problems users have been facing while trying to save their SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.1 / 4.3.2 / 4.2.7 using the latest TinyUmbrella. As a workaround, the only solution is to save the SHSH locally by accessing Apple’s servers with either TinyUmbrella or the free iSHSHit utility which is available on Cydia for free. Meawhile, a “submit my SHSH” is currently under works which would allow you to upload these signatures to Cydia too.  Read more...

iFile is hands down my favorite Cydia app and I definitely wouldn’t leave my home without it.
