The jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 isn’t far off as evident by the amount of news and updates popping up all around. One of the latest come from pod2g who has blogged about a video demo of iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. The video was made by @DHowett, a famous developer and member of the Chronic Dev Team.

New Xbox LIVE Metro UI With Bing Integration Demo! [VIDEO]

Yet another overhaul to the Xbox LIVE UI is going to drop in the fall of 2011 and this time, its going to be based on the same Metro UI as seen in Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and the upcoming Windows 8, consisting of live interactive tiles. The new UI will also include a live TV option along, an integrated Bing search and a fully Kinect controlled dashboard which would allow users to make a voice search, both systemwide and online.

sn0wbreeze2.1.jpgOnce again, the Limera1n exploit by Geohot has been implemented in a new jailbreak tool and this time, its exclusive to the Windows users. @iH8sn0w, the creator of Sn0wbreeze jailbreak tool, has just posted evidence of his upcoming version of Sn0wbreeze 2.1 for Windows, after successfully jailbreaking an iPad running iOS 4.2 beta 3. The above screenshot shows full root access using MobileTerminal on iPad with iOS 4.2.

New Xbox 360 Dashboard Leaked and Demonstrated on Video. Update coming in November

xbox-dashboard-09-13-2010Engadget has found a few videos of the new Xbox 360 Dashboard that has been leaked thanks to the Kinect beta program. This new Dashboard will be released as an update in November. This new Dashboard will be compatible with Kinect so you’ll be able to control it with gestures and voice commands. The dashboard is still in beta but gives a good idea of what’s to come.

Microsoft Shows off Mobile Surface at TechFest 2010

TechFest is an event where Microsoft’s researchers from different locations around the world meet in Redmond and share their work with other Microsoft’s employees. It’s been revealed that Microsoft is planning to show a new “Mobile Surface” at TechFest 2010.  The main purpose of Mobile Surface System is to link mobile phone with a camera and a projector so that users can interact with a screen projected onto a tabletop by moving their hands in the air above it.

Microsoft OneApp – hands on demo video

Microsoft OneApp is a new application that will allow feature phones ( phones which are not classified as smart phones ) to access web services and applications such as Windows Live Messenger, Twitter, Facebook and the likes. It is being launched by Microsoft Unlimited Potential program for developing countries where not everyone can buy an iPhone or a Blackberry. To start with, it’ll launch in South Africa for users of Blue Label Telecoms as part of their service called ‘mibli’.

Another hands on video of the Zune HD

The folks at Engadget just keep getting their hands on the Zune HD, one way or the other. They’ve got another new hands on video of the Zune HD up and it shows the same eye candy that we’ve already seen. As you’ll see in the video, the Zune HD is slimmer than the iPhone, and looks really small in the user’s hands. Yes, there’s nothing else new to see in the video if you’ve already seen the past hands on videos. I can’t wonder why they couldn’t just use the browser in the video for demonstration. Anyhow, here’s the video below of the Zune HD with all its Tegra powered goodness.
