Fishbowl – Facebook Desktop Client optimized for Windows 7

fishbowl With the announcement of Silverlight 4 on day 2 at PDC09, Silverface, a desktop application for Facebook, was demoed. Two days back, an application called Fishbowl was released by UXLabs@Microsoft. This application is a sample Facebook client that lets you update you status, scroll through your news feeds, easily browse through friends, browse and upload photos etc and is specially optimized for Windows 7.

Apps for Windows has been away lately, but it’s back with a focus on making life easy for bloggers :) . Moderator is one of my personal favorites and makes moderating WordPress comments from the comfort of your desktop very easy. It’s an Adobe Air based application and works fine on Windows, OS X and Linux as well. Official Windows 7 Themes from Microsoft available now

That was quick by Microsoft. The Windows 7 customization website, also accessible from the personalize window is now up and running. It contains themes, backgrounds, desktop gadgets and sideshow gadgets. The last 2 things can be found at Windows Live Gallery as we, so why the duplication? Weird, I know. But they had to fill it up with something. Even the 12 themes they’ve put up are less than the 22 I’ve made so far. ( hint: check back this weekend again, that number might change ). The themes on the Windows 7 Personalize website are mostly regional apart from a few nature related ones. So, head over to the website and give them a try, if you don’t like them, you can always come back to ithinkdiff themes for more.Windows Personalize
