iOS 5.0.1 update hasn’t done much wonders for users for their battery life woes but it has introduced a new bug which messes up the address book for iPhone 4S users on Verizon. What it does is that it removes the contact’s name and shows just their number in the text contact field or when someone calls the user. Basically, it’s as if you just saved a number and not the contact’s name even though that’s not the case.

The latest ultrasn0w 1.2 unlock for iOS 4.2.1 requires baseband upgrade to 06.15.00 using PwnageTool 4.1.3 (unlock edition) jailbreak tool. This has been known to cause aggressive battery drainage for many iPhone 3G and 3GS users. A security flaw was discovered recently in iOS which allows anyone to gain access to your contact list, photos, music and even place calls on your iPhone despite having a locked screen. This flaw, discovered by a forum member at MacRumors, effects iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 and has been highlighted a lot amongst the tech media which in turn got Apple’s attention.
According to CNET, Apple plans to fix this flaw in the upcoming iOS 4.2 update.

A new hacktivation patch has been released by Sherif Hashim which lets users jailbreak their phone with JailbreakMe and use Phonebook SIM to activate. All you need to do is install a package from Cydia while using your phonebook SIM card and then swap it with your carrier SIM card.

One of the issues reported with iPhone 4 is of proximity issues which cause problems during calls. Although only a few people have this issue.
