greenpois0n RC5 was released earlier today as an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad [. As with any first release of a jailbreak tool, this one has some bugs. An updated release, RC6 is expected fix many of those, but in the meantime, we have prepared a little guide to answer your questions on how to fix the common issues that many people are facing with greenpois0n.

Fix No MMS Issue after iOS 4 Update on iPhone 3G/3GS
A lot of people have contacted me that they’ve lost the MMS feature in their iPhone 3G/3GS after updating to iOS 4, jailbroken or not. The problem here seems to be that after upgrading to iOS 4, the MMS service settings are erased. There are a couple of ways to fix this issue.
Fix blackra1n and Spirit Jailbreak issues with iFixer
A new utility iFixer by Kirma has been released which aims to help in fixing issues encountered when using blackra1n or Spirit jailbreak. It fixes issues such as the ASL.dll error when running blackra1n and the iTunes error when using Spirit.
Software update to solve iPad WiFi issues
After the launch of iPad we heard that some iPads had issues with dodgy Wifi connectivity. Even though a small number of people have reported these issues, it is up to Apple to fix them. (we haven’t witnessed or heard about any iPad issues from our friends, even ours works great!) Trying to keep up with the magical device tagline, Apple has confirmed that they will address these Wifi-connectivity problems with a software update.
Spirit Jailbreak tool updated with fixes for photo deletion and error code c0000005
As expected, after feedback on various bugs by users, Spirit Jailbreak tool has gotten its first update. This update fixes the issue where jailbreaking your iDevice automatically deleted all the photos ( honestly, you folks should have backed up using iTunes! ) and it no longer gives error code c0000005, but if it still does, you’ll have to set compatibility to Windows 95.
Stability and performance update available for Microsoft Office 2010 Beta
Microsoft has released an update for Word and Office 2010 Beta which fixes a few issues related to stability and performance. Although now rolled up in a single update package, the Outlook 2010 Beta update was released separately back in January which fixes a problem in which the size of an e-mail is unexpectedly large. The update also provides some fixes for Word 2010 beta ( both 32 and 64 bit editions ) as well as stability and performance improvements.

Important: iPhone OS 3.1.3 has been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve got a new guide up on how to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 and iPod Touch 3.1.3 with redsn0w 0.9.4. Don’t upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3 if you’re using an unlocked iPhone 3G/3Gs or a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (MC Model)/3G. A lot of people have been reporting issues with jailbreaking using the new blackra1n tool by George, specially iPod Touch 3G owners. Some of these issues have to do with the fact that this is a tethered jailbreak for iPod Touch 3G so far. This means that to boot your iPod Touch 3G, it must be plugged into your computer and you must run blackra1n again.
