Microsoft has posted new job openings for hardware engineers ranging from graphics to audio/video hardware for Xbox. The interesting bit from these job postings is that the team at Microsoft’s Mountain View research campus is looking for defining and delivering next generation console architectures for which the new job postings are up. It looks like Microsoft is hiring new talent for their next generation Xbox. Xbox 720 perhaps?

Launch of Windows Phone 7 is not the only interesting news today as Microsoft has released a new version of Zune PC software. Zune 4.7 has some new features and the biggest of them is that it would have support for Windows Phone 7 devices. Apple has pushed a new Snow Leopard Graphics Update that aims to bring stability and performance improvements for games and graphic intensive applications. It mainly fixes issues with games from Steam including Portal and Team Fortress 2. Steam had said in the past in reply to slow gaming frame rates on Mac that they’re working with Apple, Nvidia and ATI to improve the gaming performance on Macs. This update seems to be a part of their work.
