Location is currently one of the hottest topics in the software industry and a number of top companies are working on it. Google can be considered the giant of this field but Apple also likes to be in control when it comes to their own devices. TechCrunch have reported that with iOS 3.2 for iPad in April, Apple started relying on their own database for location based services and utilizing it with Google Maps data for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
