Just in case you didn’t know, Kinect is amazing. This new hack just proves how it keeps blowing ours minds away everyday. OpenKinect puts a keyboard anywhere you like so you can play it with your hands, feet or even create a big enough keyboard on the floor for two people to play together. Oh and it works at 30fps with minimum lag. Read more...

Another day, another new Kinect hack. Kinect has become sort of like a canvas that is allowing hacker’s imaginations run wild. This time Kinect has been hacked to allow control of XBMC, a popular media center app, using just hand gestures. While this isn’t an elegant solution as you can tell from the video, it could be improved to become as useable as the Kinect hub on Xbox 360. Or Microsoft could just add more features to the Kinect hub to allow us to browse through our movie collections, minority report style. What up! Read more...

Here we go again. Yet another video showing Windows Phone 7 OS running on HTC HD2. In case you don’t know the background to this story, HTC HD2 was to get Windows Phone 7 update but in the end it seems to have missed Microsoft’s hardware requirements by just the lack of a hardware search button. Whatever the case, hackers have been hard at work to get Windows Phone 7 OS ported to HTC HD2 so that all those owners who had bought it hoping that it’ll get Microsoft’s latest mobile OS update can have their dreams fulfilled.

Another gripe every user has with iTunes 10, apart from the colorless icons, is that what the heck were Apple thinking when they went against their own human interface guidelines with the vertical spotlight buttons? Even Microsoft or Google don’t do such grave mistakes when designing user interfaces. Thank God for the Apple friendly Internetz else they deserved to be on the receiving end of harsh criticism.

A new tweak on Cydia called Cicero lets you customize your search engines in Safari. I had been waiting a long time for a tweak like this to add Bing to Safari before iOS 4. Cicero lets you add any search engine that complies with OpenSearch standards ( almost all major search engines and site specific search engines do this. for e.g. YouTube, Wikipedia etc ). This allows you to do site specific searches without loading up the website first. Blessing in disguise. Read more...
