The iPhone has become so popular, that many cellphone buyers are making it their default choice. Its App Store is what attracts most users. It has a wide range of applications. But because the iPhone has some restrictions, many users want to jailbreak it, just to access some cool new features. Heck, some people buy the iPhone just because it can be jailbroken.
We have all been talking for or against the iPad ever since it was announced. Opera Mobile is the world’s most popular browser for smartphones, with over 25% share, as compared to Safari Mobile on iPhone OS which has just a little bit over 22%. What confuses me is how will they release to the iPhone, despite Apple not allowing any browser other then Safari Mobile ( those that exist in the App Store use Safari’s rendering engine ).
iResQ has released pictures claiming they have the parts of the next generation iPhone 4G. As you can see it’s a bit taller then the last iPhones. But bear in mind, these pictures can be fake, and just for marketing purposes by iResQ. There seems to be a reflective surface over the phone’s speakers, which could mean it’s getting a camera. But don’t believe anything you see until it’s officially announced.

The much awaited upgrade to the PwnageTool, version 3.1.5 has just been released by the Dev-Team. This version is compatible with all iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS (old bootrom), iPod Touch 1G and 2G (old bootrom). For iPhone 3GS users, Dev-Team advises that you stay at firmware 3.1.2 because PwnageTool wont work if you’ve upgraded to 3.1.3. If you have upgraded without your 3.1.3 hashes on Cydia, chances are you’ll have to wait for the next iPhone OS update to be released and then jailbreaked because according to the Dev-Team, OS 3.1.3 update was possibly released by Apple to flush out new exploits before the next release.
The jailbreak updates keep pouring in! ih8sn0w team has been working hard to iron out the bugs and add support for more devices for sn0wbreeze. Version 1.3 was released a few days ago with support for iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS with OS 3.1.3, while the updated new version 1.4 brings support for iPod Touch 1G and fixes iPhone 3GS issues that users were facing. Apple almost doubled it’s shipment in the fourth quarter, earning it the third place among smartphone makers. The iPhone has 14.4 percent of the market, closely following No. 2, Research in Motion.
The data shows that Apple had a year-over-year growth rate of 82%, jumping to 14.4% of the smartphone market in 2009, up from 9.1 percent in 2008.
