A huge number of websites ( including this one ), use Google Analytics to track Internet traffic as well as traffic patterns. A large set of data can be gathered based on user’s location such as location, OS version, browser version and much more – although the user can not be personally identified. Even then, Google has decided to release a browser add-on which lets users opt-out of Google Analytics. This seems like a move in reaction to steadily rising privacy concerns about online services and websites such as Facebook and Google.

Google has released another update for the Chrome, versions 4.0.245.0, aimed at dev version users, which brings a Kiosk Mode to the browser along with the usual bug fixes and stability improvements. Kiosk Mode in Chrome is inspired by the very same option in Internet Explorer, which hides the toolbar and status bar and runs the browser in a full screen mode. Read more...

Microsoft has released a reliability update marked KB962921 for Internet Explorer in Windows 7 Beta. According to the Windows Internet Explorer Blog, the main areas of fixes have been the crashes and hang ups in the browser. They took into account the feedback generated by Beta users and reports sent in by the Windows Error Reporting tool. All of us Windows users are well aware of Windows Update. Whenever we have to reinstall Windows, the tedious process of re-updating the system takes place. It makes us wish there were offline setups available, so that it doesn’t stay dependant on the Internet. Although, that would take more time as you’ll have to launch more setup files, click through more dialogue boxes ( and more UAC prompts in Vista ). But there are some people who might need a specific Windows Update for their use. Where do you find that setup?
