Apple has confirmed on their Game Center overview page that the features of Game Center will debut in the upcoming update of iOS 4.1 later this week. The long awaited social gaming network will be available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and all iPod touch models except the first one. We already know that Game Center will not come to the original iPhone and iPod touch because of their low hardware specs which is also why iOS 4 is not available for these devices. But the move to not introduce Game Center for iPhone 3G could be a result of its poor performance with iOS 4.0. Read more...

There’s an app for everything, but not for opening a bottle. Luckily, there’s an iPhone case for that. The iBottleopener is an iPhone 3G/3GS case with a bottle opener at the back. This has to be the weirdest case ever made although great for beer loving Apple fans.

It also has new features such as HDR, HD uploads over WiFi, TV show rentals and Game Center. Apple had said that the update will be released in the coming weeks but it looks like Apple UK has already given away the release date on their website.

With the release iOS 4 for iPhone and iPod touch, a lot of new features were introduced. Sadly, while these features didn’t make it to iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G because of their low hardware specs, iOS 4 slowed down these devices terribly. These devices performed much better and faster with iOS 3.x installed. Last month Apple has mentioned that the company is looking into the problems that are slowing down iPhone 3G. Apple CEO Steve Jobs has confirmed in a new email that the company will soon issue a software update to solve the issue with iPhone 3G’s performance on iOS 4. Read more...

We covered Frash’s arrival to iPhone earlier today. It involved a lengthy process of SSH-ing into your iPhone using a PC or Mac and then copying the frash.deb file into a folder, after creating a couple of folders.
