Dev Team: No iOS 4.0.2/3.2.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 3GS/4 and iPad. Wait for iOS 4.1

<Category: Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod> 2 Comments

Jailbreakme 2.0 was the easiest jailbreak solution available, but it didn’t last too long. Apple fixed the PDF vulnerability in iOS by releasing iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 for iPhone and iPad respectively. We had warned users not to upgrade if they want to keep their jailbreak. Luckily, redsn0w still works wonders for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G ( non-MC models ) if you use iOS 4.0 firmware to jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 on the device, but for all other iDevices, they’re out of luck if they were upgraded to 4.0.2/3.2.2[1. Unless SHSH blobs were backed up, thanks to which downgrading to previous iOS versions is possible and Jailbreakme 2.0 can be used again. Remember to secure your iDevice with the PDF Warner after downgrading.]iOS 4.0.2 3.2.2 Jailbreak

Secure yourself from PDF vulnerability in iOS without updating to 4.0.2/3.2.2 and preserve Jailbreak

<Category: Apple, iPhone, iPod> No comment

All you regular readers probably know about the PDF vulnerability that allowed the jailbreak community to come up with JailbreakMe. With iOS 4.0.2 update, Apple fixed this flaw but this also removes the jailbreak. So far only iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC models) can be jailbroken with redsn0w on iOS 4.0.2, but for all others, it’s better to not update if you want to preserve your jailbreak. There’s a better way to stay secure from the PDF vulnerability without losing your ability to use Cydia and install jailbroken Apps by installing PDF Patch by Saurik. Here’s how to do it:
