A report published by TechCrunch early this week revealed Apple’s plans to integrate Twitter in iOS 5 for easy sharing of photos and other content. The claim was backed up by an official announcement from Twitter the very next day stating that it will soon launch its own photo sharing service as well as a hint from John Gruber of Daring Fireball that Apple will indeed be building Twitter deeply into iOS 5. Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference is about to kick of in just two days i.e June 6th, 2011 at San Francisco. Almost all the details and major announcements have already been leaked ahead of the big event which include Apple’s iCloud service, Mac OS X Lion and supposedly the biggest update to iOS since its launch i.e iOS 5. Ahead of the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 which is scheduled to kick off on June 6, Apple has pushed an official WWDC iOS app to the App Store in order to assist those who will be attending the conference next week in Cupertino. The app, which can be downloaded free as a universal binary for both iPhone and iPad, provides news, photos and other informational material from the conference along with its complete schedule. The Nike + GPS iOS app turns 5 today, and to celebrate, Nike has the app available for free in the app store. The Nike + app allows you to map and track your runs, using the phones GPS functionality (This app will run on the 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 2G, 3G, 4G). Microsoft has released a toolkit for iOS developers to use in order to utilize Microsoft’s Cloud Based storage solution for developers to use to host and build applications. The toolkit is obviously also available for the Windows Phone platform, and Microsoft says that an Android version will be out next month. The iOS toolkit allows the creation of apps for iPhone and iPad using Objective-C and XCode, with Microsoft stating that they want to make it easier for developers to use their platforms. Browsing the web today from my iPad, I noticed that I can now access my Amazon Cloud Drive from my device, even using Safari. This means that I can now listen to my music, from my Cloud Drive, without any other software, or App. Read more...

Several sources are now stating the Apple is making a deal with Nuance, the creators of Dragon Naturally Speaking, for speech recognition software for iOS5. Nuance’s technology is already used for software created by Siri, a company that Apple acquired last year. Apple has also been said to be preparing to bring an integration of Siri’s AI and voice control capabilities to iOS5 with is due to release later this year. Read more...
