Absinthe A5 Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1 was just released and a lot of users are already complaining about some issues. We’re compiling a list of some known issues and their fixes ( or how to avoid them ). I love trying out new operating systems and gadgets. That’s why I blog on technology. So despite any doubts I had on Microsoft’s latest effort in the mobile arena, despite their history with Windows Mobile 6.5 (could have been way better than what it was) and KIN (duh!), I decided to give Windows Phone 7 a try. I had been using Android and iOS so I had a pretty good idea of what to compare WP7 with. And after giving it lots of chances, here’s my honest and unbiased opinion on Microsoft’s efforts.

greenpois0n RC5 was released earlier today as an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad [. As with any first release of a jailbreak tool, this one has some bugs. An updated release, RC6 is expected fix many of those, but in the meantime, we have prepared a little guide to answer your questions on how to fix the common issues that many people are facing with greenpois0n.

Apple looking into iOS 4 Issues on iPhone 3G

Most iPhone 3G users have updated their devices to iOS 4 and now all of them are complaining about the slow downs they’re facing which make their iPhone seem like it’s inspired by a Symbian or mediocre Android smartphone. Even though most of the features of iOS 4 are not  available for iPhone 3G, it really slows down the phone and frustrates users. According to a report by Wall Street Journal, Apple is investigating problems for iPhone 3G users with iOS 4 after listening to a lot of serious complaints. Many users have reported issues with iOS 4 on their iPhone on Apple forums. A spokesman of Apple said that Apple is aware of the report and is looking into the problems.

iPhone 4 Proximity sensor issue to be solved with next software update

One of the issues reported with iPhone 4 is of proximity issues which cause problems during calls. Although only a few people have this issue. Today, Apple announced in their live press conference that they are currently working on a proximity sensor issue fix and they would soon give another software update to solve it.

Apple Engineer had told Steve Jobs about iPhone 4 Antenna Design Concerns Way Before Launch

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple senior engineer and antenna expert Ruben Caballero had expressed his concerns about the design of iPhone 4 to Apple authorities way before its launch. He had raised his concerns about the antenna design of the device to Steve Jobs in the early part of the iPhone 4 design process but Steve Jobs just ignored it. Because of his decision, some iPhone 4 users are facing the death grip reception issue.

Consumer Reports Doesn’t Recommend iPhone 4 Because of ‘Death Grip’ Signal Strength Issues

After the launch of iPhone 4, the biggest issue that is being highlighted is its signal reception issueApple has said in a statement that they would solve this problem with a software update soon, as it is just a ‘software problem’ according to them. But we all know it’s not just the software that’s causing the issues. Consumer Reports has now confirmed that iPhone 4 has reception issues and that is why they cannot recommend it until Apple fixes this problem.

The rumors are wrong. The Steve Jobs Twitter account is fake which ‘announced’ this. So everybody who thinks this will happen, sorry to burst your bubble. Any issues that are in the current iPhone 4 models will hopefully be fixed to some extent via software updates, but a recall hasn’t been announced by Apple. We don’t think that’s possible anyhow.
