The latest release supports iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad running iOS 5 beta 1 for developers with registered UDIDs. iCloud Sued By iCloud Communications Over Trademark Infringement!

<Category: Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTunes> No comment

This news rather comes with a surprise as Apple’s biggest invention of the year, the iCloud, has already received a lawsuit even before it has actually been launched to the general public. A communications company from Arizona registered by the name of iCloud Communications LLC, has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Apple over using the name iCloud. They not only believe that Apple’s advertising of iCloud is damaging their business but also think that Apple is offering services “similar to them”. I mean, seriously?

How To Jailbreak iOS 5 On iPhone 4 / 3GS, iPad & iPod Touch With Redsn0w 0.9.8 [iOS 5 BETA 1]

<Category: Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTunes> No comment

And here it is folks! The first working iOS 5 jailbreak solution is out as Dev-Team releases the latest version of Redsn0w i.e version 0.9.8. The updated tool can jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1 running on any iPhone 4 (GSM & CDMA) / iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G / 4G and iPad / iPad 2. However, the jailbreak is currently tethered meaning you need to plug it to your computer to run it in jailbroken mode, every time to reboot your device. Since @i0n1c’s untethered exploit is seemingly patched, there is no ETA as to when the untethered version will be released.

iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Exploit Patched Already?

<Category: Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTunes> No comment

Even though it took less than 48 hours for Dev-Team to demonstrate iOS 5 root access by publishing photos of jailbroken iPod touch 4G using Limera1n bootrom exploit from Geohot, the jailbreak is however based on a tethered boot. Also, getting it untethered anytime soon isn’t going to be easy since the untethered exploit from @i0n1c might already have been patched by Apple in iOS 5 beta developer release.

With WWDC coming up next week, and other rumors surrounding Apple’s new cloud music service, it seems the rumors may very well be true. Apple has recently bought the domain name icloud.com in preperation for it’s new cloud music service. Apple has also recently been busy signing music labels to it’s service for licensing agreements.

Jailbreak 4.3.3 Untethered Without Baseband Update Using PwnageTool [Guide]

<Category: Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTunes> No comment

iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool officially gets an update today to support iOS 4.3.3 untethered jailbreak on all devices which include iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G & iPad. Still no support for jailbreaking 4.3.3 on iPad 2 however. Like the other jailbreak tools such as sn0wbreeze and redsn0w which were updated earlier, PwnageTool 4.3.3 also incorporates @i0n1c’s untethered exploit and like always, preserves baseband update to allow ultrasn0w unlock on iPhone 4 & 3GS running iOS 4.3.3

Apple has been in talks with Verizon about delivering iOS 5 updates via the air, much like Android and Blackberry devices do today.  Apple has long required the tethered update to iTunes, requiring you to plug in your device, open itunes, download, and install the update.
