With the news of the iPhone location db being stored on users devices and computers, a media storm has ensued. Apple has since issued a statement and voiced that they would fix this quickly. Well, that fix is on the horizon with iOS 4.3.3, which is due to release in the next couple of weeks.

CocoaNuts, the developers of Yourtube and Yourtube HD cydia tweaks for iPhone / iPad are ready to release yet another breakthrough jailbreak app for iOS. Its called Celeste and it lets you send and receive files via bluetooth on your jailbroken iPhone 4 / 3GS / 3G, iPod touch or iPad running iOS4. Yes, its the much awaited alternative to the iBluenova project which worked only for iOS 3.x. The developer team has announced that the app is ready for release and should be available for download next week from cydia store.

As expected after yesterday’s iPad 2 launch event, Apple has updated iTunes to version 10.2 to support iOS 4.3 and improved Home Sharing which allows you to browse and play iTunes libraries from any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad with iOS 4.3. This is the feature we really wanted and we wonder what it means for apps like Air Video now which technically allow you to do the same although with a wider range of video formats. Compared to Air Video though, the improved Home Sharing will allow you to play songs as well as videos.

Apple says “Thank you. Ten billion times.” Yes! Its a pretty huge landmark in the history of iTunes as App Store has just hit 10 billion downloads. It won’t be too long when the total number of Apps downloaded on iPhones, iPod touches and iPads around the globe hit the 20, 30 or 50 billion mark while Android marketplace waits next in line to announce a certain respectable download figure. Apple had actually set up an online counter few days back counting down to this great milestone and today it officially reaches that mark!

Just like iPhone and other iOS devices, now you can control your entire iTunes music library right from your Windows Phone 7 mobile device. Remote is a new app now available for download in the windows phone Marketplace thats lets you browse through your iTunes music content using your WP7 mobile over a Wifi connection. The app brings all the basic features to control iTunes at your WP7 phone’s disposal, including volume, starting / stopping music, and searching a song by album, artist, genre etc. All you need to do is to install a free “pairing utility” on your computer which is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems.

Apple have released an update to iTunes, version 10.1.1 which contains a few important bug fixes. I haven’t faced any of these issues but it’s always good to stay up to date just to be safe. The update is really small, just 39.4 MB as compared to the huge updates we normally get for iTunes.

Today, Apple have increase the iTunes preview time of songs from 30 seconds to 90 seconds. The 90 second preview will apply to most iTunes songs more then 2 minutes and 30 seconds in length.

Apple promised to surprise the world with ‘an exciting announcement‘ via iTunes today and they have done so with finally managing to get the Beatles to iTunes, the band that changed everything in the industry of music! The complete Beatles Box Set is now selling on iTunes for $149.99 while the individual albums range from $12.99 to $19.99. You can also buy individual songs for $1.29 each.
