iOS Software Update iOS 4 (previously iPhone OS 4) has been released to the general public as a free upgrade for iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Touch 2G/3G models. iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G wont get iOS 4 because they’re old and slow. Duh! The update is being rolled out as we speak, so if you’re using an unlocked iPhone, go ahead, connect it to iTunes and the update will show up.

Wirelessly Sync your iPhone to iTunes via WiFi-Sync

If there’s a way to kill wires on devices then we might have found a great way to kill time to sync them to their software, same is the case with the iPhone. Imagine if you could wirelessly sync your iPhone to iTunes – WiFi-Sync is an app (yet to be released) which let’s you do that.

Apple recently made changes to the iPhone development license agreement which every developer has to agree before downloading the SDK. It has one clause which is a matter of concern for many iPhone app developers. Section 3.3.1 states:

Just when the iPad has launched and over 30,000 people are using it, HP Slate comes back in the sight for 30 second to remind us that there is another Tablet PC ready to launch. But surely HP Slate would have to offer a lot more to be better than the iPad to provide any sort of competition.

Its always been a pain for me to browse applications on iTunes. You obviously couldn’t have multiple tabs, you had to view an app and then go back to the category every single time. Then Apple made our life easier by letting us browse Apps in our browsers.

iTunes 9.1 to be released along with iPad launch with eBook support

Macrumors have been tipped by a source that iTunes (currently at version 9) will get a bump to version 9.1 along with the release of the iPad. This release will bring support for Books, enhancements to Genius Mix and automatic bitrate conversion.

iPad Apps starting to show up on ‘iTunes Preview’

PadGadget has found that the iTunes preview site has now started showing iPad apps. Developers were working on iPad apps since a few months and now Apple has started approving their apps which are now visible on the iTunes preview site but still not shown in the desktop iTunes App Store. Clicking on titles of those apps would show you a dialog box stating that the items are currently not available.

You can now gift iPhone Apps to friends on iTunes

Apple have announced that iTunes users can now gift apps to each other. Previously iTunes user could only gift songs to each other. To gift an app to your friend you cannot use iTunes cards or gift certificates, only credit card would be accepted for payment of the gift app. Another important thing is that you can only exchange gift app to the person from your own county only.
