Earlier today, Apple dropped iOS 5 Beta 4 with OTA updates to the developers. Unluckily, for those with jailbroken iPhones on iOS 5 Beta 3, this simply won’t work as confirmed by @MuscleNerd himself in a recent tweet. He said:

If you haven’t seen the new push notification format in iOS 5, then this may look a bit unfamiliar to you. CallBar utilizes this new functionality and applies it to your incoming calls. @i0n1c, the iOS developer and hacker behind untethered jailbreak exploit discovered in iOS 4.3.1 till 4.3.3 has made it clear not to expect a similar untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.4 in the coming few weeks. As Apple released iOS 4.3.4, it patched not only the PDF vulnerability exploited by @comex in JailbreakMe 3.0 for iPad 2 jailbreak but also patched @i0n1c’s untethered exploit. Even though iOS 4.3.4 can be jailbroken with latest Redsn0w on iPhone 4 / 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1, it is however a tethered one.

iOS 4.3.4 is out and has been jailbroken already using the latest Redsn0w 0.9.8b3 release by Dev Team. Unlike the previous jailbreaks for iPhone 4 / 3GS, iPod Touch & iPad on iOS 4.3.x, this one is a tethered jailbreak since the existing untethered venerability discovered by @i0n1c has been patched by Apple in iOS 4.3.4 along with the PDF vulnerability found in iOS 4.3 to 4.3.3 used in JailbreakMe 3.0 by @comex. Nonetheless, Limera1n exploit still works on iOS 4.3.4 for all devices except the iPad 2 which can be applied to jailbreak your device using the latest Redsn0w.

Apple has released its newest version of iOS today, fixes the PDF exploit that is used with Comex’s jailbreak. This was obviously also a security fix for Apple as it would allow users to view malicious PDF files on their iOS device. This update is compatible with the iPhone 4 (GSM), iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, iPod Touch (3G & 4G).

Today we announced that Apple released iOS 5 Beta 3 to developers and can be jailbroken using Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for both Mac and Windows. However, it was later discovered that iOS 5 Beta 3 has an issue with Apps downloaded in the App Store after being jailbroken that causes the apps to crash when opened.
