The latest jailbreak solution from @Comex aka JailbreakMe 3.0, which also works on iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.3, exploits a vulnerability found in Mobile Safari which forces users to open a malicious PDF file eventually leading to a successful jailbreak. A fix for this exploit has already been issued by @Comex in the form of PDF Patcher 2 (available in Cydia for free), which he highly recommends should be used as soon as you have jailbroken your iOS device using JailbreakMe 3.0.

For those who are not sure what Swype is, it is the “typing” system mostly found on Android devices. Swyping allows users to type faster in many instances, as you don’t need to tap the keys you want. All you do is swype across the keyboard where the letters are that you want to use.

It appears that the issue is for real as @Comex has already acknowledged the problem in a recent tweet. You all must know by now that a beta tester for JailbreakMe 3.0 leaked some iPad 2 jailbreak files from @Comex‘s upcoming not-so-secret project. The jailbreak files were available online for a brief period before they were taken down permanently. However, a hacker named Ryan Vanniekerk managed to grab those files during that short window and has now put up a complicated guide on how to use these leaked files to “set up your own web-based exploit” and jailbreak all current devices including the iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.3.

Yet another application based on AirPlay technology has recently been released to Cydia for all jailbroken iPhones, iPods and iPads and is called AirServer. Once you download the app, you can stream content across various iOS devices and even directly from your computer to an iOS device. All you need is a Mac and itunes 10.2 or above and share the same WiFi network. Of course you need to jailbreak your iOS device and install AirServer first.

A new springboard enhancement tweak has just hit the Cydia store and is called SBFader. The tweak is developed by Alexandros Melakis and once installed, adds a simple “fade in” effect to the application icons when swiping across the springboard pages. You can also switch off the SBFader from Settings app and also adjust the opacity to which icons fade during the transition. There is also an option to adjust the duration (in seconds) of the fade effect.
