Apple: WiFi iPad Launching in China starting September 17th
This should be huge for Apple. iPad will be officially launching in China on September 17th, in WiFi flavor only though. iPad was launched a few months ago and has captured a lot of market despite having launched in only a few countries so far. The step into China should increase their market share[1. The market currently belongs to them only. We don’t see any real competitors in the wild.] tremendously.
Apple’s iPod Nano To Lose the Click Wheel in Favor of A Touch Screen
Apple will hold a special media event on September 1st in which they will reveal their new iPod lineup. We have heard this rumor before and now iPodnn has reported that Apple is preparing a big design change for iPod Nano that would shrink the device in size and it would loose the physical click wheel. Wu also claims that if the new design is to be released then I would be released on September 1st.
Second Round of iPhone 4 launch Starts Today in 17 more Countries
In the iPhone 4 press conference, Steve Jobs announced that Apple would start the second round of iPhone 4 launch, late July in 17 more countries. Earlier this week, Apple confirmed it with a press release. Today the second round of iPhone 4 launches has begun in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Apple will launch iPad in 9 more countries this Friday
Today Apple announced that the iPad will be available in nine more countries starting 23rd of this month which will be Friday. The countries which will have iPad on this Friday are Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore. Both the Wifi and 3G models of iPad would be available at launch with pricing according to the Apple’s country-specific sites and stores pricing.
Apple will start shipping White iPhone 4 by the end of July
Just before the launch of iPhone 4, Apple had told in an official statement that white iPhone 4 models are a little bit more challenging to manufacture than the black iPhone 4. So, it was announced that the white iPhone 4 would be available after mid of July. But during the iPhone 4 launch in UK, two white iPhone 4 were spotted in a video by Sky News, way before its was supposed to be launched. Later it was found out that those were review units of white iPhone 4 and they were not given to regular iPhone 4 buyers. Steve Jobs has announced in the special press conference for iPhone 4 today that they will start shipping White iPhone 4 by the end of July.
Analyst says Apple sold 1.5 Million iPhone 4s on Launch Day
According to Oppenheimer’s Yair Reiner, Apple has sold around 1.5 Million iPhone 4s on launch day. In contrast, iPad had sold 3 Million units in 28 days, but that was in the US alone and the last generation iPhones took around 3 days to sell as many units.
