Apple released a security update yesterday to help assist users with the removal and protection from the Mac Defender Malware. However, hackers have already created a new variant of the Malware that the Security Update is not familiar with. The timestamp of the virus is just hours after Apple released their update. However, if you still have your settings to not allow downloaded files to run and are being aware of things you click on and download, then you are still safe. Read more...

The third build of Mac OSX 10.6.8 was seeded to developers earlier today, which could be the final build before Mac OSX 10.7 Lion launches. Apple has been very consistent with their build release, releasing the builds to developers every Thursday or Friday. Apple is still wanting developers to focus on Graphics Drivers, Mac App Store (Will be utilized more with Lion as well), Networking, Airport, Quicktime, and VPN. Read more...

An internal document was sent to Apple Employees telling them to not assist customers that are infected with the MacDefender virus. The MacDefender virus shows up on your Mac as an AntiVirus application. If you have this virus or downloaded the installer, be sure to download the program or dmg immediately. Read more...

Google has finally released it’s Chrome Canary build for Mac. Canary is Google Chrome’s Developer builds, which google is numbering version 13. The current release of Chrome is at Version 11, with the beta builds at version 12. This means a few things, the builds are very unstable and are very frequent. Security is not guaranteed so you should use Canary along side another version of Chrome. I would avoid doing any shopping or putting any personal information into a web page using the browser.
