Office for Mac 2011 Service Pack 1 Available for Download

Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for Office for Mac 2011. This update helps improve security by fixing a few vulnerabilities as well as supporting Apple’s Sync Services via Outlook 2011 SP1. You will be able to sync your Outlook calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with any service or device that supports Sync Services, including iPhone and iPad.

Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 1 Available For Download!

The IE10 has been built on IE9 with support for a wider range of standards such as multiple-columns, grid layouts and some CSS3 gradients. Windows Phone 7 (WP7) Mango Update Build 7753 Leaked Already!

According to PocketNow, a newer build of Windows Phone 7 software (supposedly a build of Mango update) has been found running on an LG Optimus 7. The handset belongs to Windows Phone Italy commenter “Huggye” who has posted a picture of his WP7 home screen showing a search button. He comments on his picture “look who came to me with the node that button.” Previously this mysterious search-style button was seen on the home screen and applications listing of an HD2 running WP7, as reported by PocketNow.

Microsoft Releases Bing App for iPad [Review]

Windows Phone 7 “NoDo” Update Is Now Available For Download!

The Windows Phone 7 March 2011 update aka “NoDo” is now available for download. The first WP7 update for year 2011 features the much awaited “copy and paste” and a whole lot more. Some Windows Phone 7 users who have already downloaded the update are reporting the “NoDo” update is listed as build 7390 under the “Windows Phone Update – March 2011″ push.

Whoa! Microsoft Kinect Works With Sony PlayStation 3 [VIDEO + Source Code]

This is pretty big guys. A hacker and developer who goes by the name of Shantanu Goel has achieved something amazing. He has successfully managed to make Microsoft’s Kinect motion sensor to work with a PlayStation 3 system. He has published a demo video in which he manages to use Kinect as an input controller for the PS3. He has also released the source code for his project.

A new algorithm developed by Microsoft’s Innovation Labs has just been demonstrated on video showing how awesome it is, in detecting and recognizing faces during a live video feed. The technology can not only recognize a face, it can even track the faces and human expressions while they move around and also accept tags which help in automatic recognition of people the moment the appear on scene.

Guinness World Records: Microsoft Kinect Is The World’s Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device!

Guinness World Records has officially declared Microsoft’s Kinect motion gaming controller for Xbox 360 as the Fastest-Selling Consumer Electronics Device. The revolutionary accessory sold around 133,000 units per day for a total of 8 million units in its first 60 days on sale from 4 November 2010 to 3 January 2011. These sales figures outstrip both the iPhone and the iPad for the equivalent periods after launch.

Microsoft Hiring Hardware Engineers for Next Xbox ?

Microsoft has posted new job openings for hardware engineers ranging from graphics to audio/video hardware for Xbox. The interesting bit from these job postings is that the team at Microsoft’s Mountain View research campus is looking for defining and delivering next generation console architectures for which the new job postings are up.
