Mozilla have been churning out betas for Firefox 4 like anything. I’ve been following the progress of the betas closely and there has been a lot of progress through out the development life cycle for Firefox 4 so far although it’s still not Google Chrome like fast yet.

Mozilla Releases Fennec Alpha (Firefox Mobile) for Android 2.0+ and Nokia N900
Although an alpha build of Fennec was available for download for Android 2.0+ devices since a few months, it wasn’t really the most stable pieces of software. Today, Mozilla have officially released the alpha version of Fennec for Android 2.0+ and Nokia N900. It features much of the features that we’ve come to love in the desktop version of Firefox. It’s loaded with features such as awesome bar, Firefox Sync, Add-ons support and much more.
Mozilla app coming to iPhone in the next few weeks
Want a Mozilla app for your iPhone?. Well you might be seeing a Mozilla App listed in the App Store in the upcoming weeks. This interesting bit of information was revealed by Mozilla CEO John Lilly during an interview which was conducted at the Play Conference held at the University of Berkeley.
Firefox Hits 1 Billion Downloads!
Mozilla Firefox has finally crossed the 1 billion download mark. With Version 0.1 being released way back in 2002, Firefox has come a long way. It has evolved over the years adding new useful features to its ever-growing list: tabbed browsing, themes, addons, RSS feed support and so on. Its latest version, Firefox 3.5, was recently released and includes private browsing, recovering recently closed tabs, open video, location aware browsing, etc. Firefox is the second most used browser worldwide and holds about 30% of the market share.

Firefox 3.7 might have full support for Aero glass in Windows Vista and 7 as evident from some mockups available in the Mozilla Wiki. These are only mockups of what it might look like, but don’t raise your expectations to high. Mozilla had claimed to make Firefox 3 resemble the UI of different operating systems, but so far they didn’t get it right for Vista and XP despite many releases.
How to download a browser in Windows 7 (E or N editions) without using a browser
As we all know by now, Windows 7 E will ship without a browser in Europe due to legal issues. OEMs will provide browsers on CDs/DVDs or by any other means, but this will remain to be a hassle for European users of Windows 7. The best way is to download your favorite browser and back up the setup file on a USB drive so that you can easily install it when you move to Windows 7 E.
Why Firefox 3.0.5 does not have the EULA anymore.
Just noticed Firefox updated to 3.0.5 on my Windows Vista installation. It consists of mainly stability improvements and security issues fixed. After the update installed, I saw an infobar appear right under the tabs which told me to check out my rights. Unluckily, I couldn’t capture that, and have been unable to make it reappear, but it’s interesting none the less, to read what the about:rights page has to say.
