Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM Released to MSDN and TechNet Users

Microsoft has released Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM to MSDN and TechNet subscribers today. This is technically the same build which was leaked all over the Internet almost a month ago. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is a collection of bug fixes and a roll up of updates released so far for the operating system as well as addition of a new feature called RemoteFX.

Microsoft launches Visual Studio 2010 – now available for download

Visual Studio 2010 had been in testing ( betas, release candidate ) since some time now . Today, Microsoft has finally launched Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Silverlight 4 will also be released to Web in the later part of this week.

Office 2010 Beta and Web Applications available for download on MSDN and TechNet

image Office 2010 Beta has been released for MSDN and TechNet users along with Office Web Applications. Office 2010 Beta is available as only Professional Plus SKU (32 bit and 64 bit variants) while Office Web Apps are available in x64 variant only for self hosting in corporate environments.

SQL Server 2008 R2 Evaluation August CTP released to MSDN/TechNet subscribers

Microsoft has released the first evaluation build of SQL Server 2008 R2 Evaluation August CTP (quiet a handful isn’t it? Why not just call it SQL Server 2008 R2 Beta ?) to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Downloads are available in the form of Enterprise Edition ( x86, x64, ia64 ) and Express Edition ( x86, x64, x86 and x64 WoW ). Public access to the CTP will be available tomorrow.
