Google has finally released it’s Chrome Canary build for Mac. Canary is Google Chrome’s Developer builds, which google is numbering version 13. The current release of Chrome is at Version 11, with the beta builds at version 12. This means a few things, the builds are very unstable and are very frequent. Security is not guaranteed so you should use Canary along side another version of Chrome. I would avoid doing any shopping or putting any personal information into a web page using the browser. The day that us Mac users can say, “I’ve never gotten a virus on my mac” have come to an end. There is a new fake Malware attacking OSX users now called MacDefender. If you don’t know your US history, then you might not be aware that this Challenger mission was a failure to NASA, exploding in mid-air, killing everyone aboard. Supposedly, according to CultOfMac, Steve Jobs tried to buy his way onto the shuttle, replacing the school teacher Christa McAuliffe. This was reported to them via a Russian TV Crew. When asked where they got their information, they stated that is was information from Russia. Possibly a KGB leak? Possibly a way for Russia to vocally attack the US? Who knows? Read more...

One of the few things from Windows that I have missed since moving to my Mac was Microsoft’s One Note. Evernote attempted to fill the gap, and syncing notes with my mobile devices was a nice feature. But, it wasn’t the same. Growly Notes is the closest alternative to One Note on the Mac that I have found, and it’s free. If you loved using One Note you should definitely give this app a try. Earlier today, Apple released an update to Safari that patched the pwn2own exploit. This same exploit had cut through Safari’s defenses in just 5 seconds. However, the exploit patch is not the only major update headed to Safari. Chrome, Firefox, and even Internet Explorer have offered the ability to disable geo-tracking for ads, and now Safari has decided to crash the party. A developer discovered the tool in the latest experimental Safari build for OS X Lion (Dev2). Personally, this is not an update that I will take advantage of, as I much prefer Chrome and Firefox. Do you look forward to the update? Leave a comment with your thoughts below. Read more...

The newest Final Cut Pro release, version ‘X’, was unveiled tonight at Supermeet at NAB in Las Vegas. Rebuilt from the ground up, the new Final Cut Pro will have 64-bit support and will become available in June for only $299. Final Cut Pro 7 currently retails for $999.99 on Apple’s website. Read more...
